Custom Code to Cupcake’s Design System

IssueLaunch is an IHS Markit financial product designed to provide market participants with a real-time electronic exchange of information between traders, investors and syndicate banks.

IssueLaunch was originally created as an Angular application utilizing Bootstrap styling and custom CSS. Over time, this code base became cumbersome to maintain and the inconsistent styling negatively affected the user experience. As a result of these pain points, the design and development team determined the code base needed to be refactored by implementing IHS Markit’s Cupake Design System.

For this project, I was the lead front-end developer. I worked closely with a team of two designers to map out areas of the application that utilized custom components and styling. The designers created wireframes that I used as my visual source of truth when implementing the new code base.
